How to Prepare Your Dallas Home before Replacing Your Roof

New CLC Roofing Installation Tips To Protect What Is Inside

Getting a new roof requires many preparations. Besides finding a good roofer such as CLC Roofing of Dallas, choosing the material and dealing with other important details of the project, you must also prepare your home, because its exterior will turn into a construction site, for a few days.

You will want to prioritize making your roof replacing project as stress-free as possible for you and as safe as possible for your property.

Things you must consider:

  • Pets

You can talk to your children and help them overcome their anxiety caused by the noise and you can also mark off-limits areas, until the roofing project is over. But when it comes to pets, things can be more difficult. It may be a good idea to relocate them to a family member or a friend, until they can feel safe again on your property.

  • Protect your vehicle

You should move your car at a safe distance from the house, or keep the garage`s door closed, to protect it from dust.

  • Remove home décor items hanging from your walls/ ceiling that are not permanently secured, to prevent them from falling down and break due to the vibration of the machineries and hammers used by the roofers.
  • Move your patio furniture, outdoor grill and lawn ornaments at a safe distance

Ideally, keep them in the garage, or in a shed, until the roofing works are over.
